365 Vintage Days: 300. Gold hand painted

This dress has a black velvet bodice and a thick black satin skirt, entirely hand painted in gold colour. I am also wearing clear plastic springolators with gold tone leather trims, a gold tone lucite purse, black bakelite bangles; gold and black earrings and a Selro necklace

I bought this dress from Tamara and Cyril’s vintage stall at a R’n’R weekender in the UK in 2007. The springolators are from an antiaue mall on Western street in Las Vegas, bought in spring 2010. The purse is from an antique mall north of Miami – could be Copper City – also in spring 2010. I found the Selro necklace in spring 2011  from an antique mall in Fresno, California. The bangles are from the US and Finland.

I’ve just been looking back through your blog posts and I just had to comment on this one as I bought the same dress recently to wear to VLV this year!! I’m going to be in LA before VLV – can you recommend a great vintage shopping area? I was thinking of Long Beach but wasn’t sure if that would be the best area. I’d appreciate any suggestions you have! You can let me know via my email midcenturyshauna@gmail.com
    Thanks! 🙂
