A new appartment and renovation means a lot of work but also some financial stress: hence this year we did not go to the Viva Las Vegas Weekender. We certainly missed it very much but we had other priorities and we really focussed on home making. Our friends were in Vegas – as usual – and had good time so we were happy for them. And they brought me a surprise present from our dear Ron and Cyndi of Denver: a dead stock white cotton blouse – with orange, sage green and yellow diamond patterns and an orange and yellow silk scarf. And the perfect fit! This was so nice.
I wore it a couple of weeks ago, paired with an orange dead stock woolen skirt, a green – yellow – pale yellow Calderon belt with hinges and yellow green and orange bakelite jewelry. That day I was in a mood for colours so I picked up a yellow purse and yellow balerinas as well as orange gloves and and the orange and yellow scarf. I guess I overdid it … but it was a grey early May day so why not.
We took pictures inside a funny shop in Helsinki called Weird Antiques, with the model of juke box I am dreaming to buy one day: a 1958 Ami.
Our renovation and arranging of our home is progressing – slowly – and there are still only a few corners I am satisfied with so far: here’s one. It takes time.
I bought the belt from etsy last fall. The skirt is from Boss Vintage of Denver and purchased a couple of years ago. The purse is from John Day’s vintage stall at a Rock n’ Roll weekender in the UK almost 20 years ago. The bakelite jewelry is from different locations in the US. And the ballerinas are repro ones.
