365 Vintage Days: Bringing some sun to the winter
Last weekend, Fintage organised a two days vintage event in the Vapriikki Museum in Tampere. This museum has really a lot to show on industrial and handcraft history and my favorite part is the shoe museum. There are also temporary exhibitions, this time about Egyptian mummies.
For me, the weekend was a perfect occasion to meet friends and do some great shopping. On Sunday, I also participated in the vintage fashion show. To match the exhibition at the Museum, The theme of the fashion show was the 20′s – time when ancient Egyptian King Tutankhamun’s preserved tumb and mummy were unearthed – and exotica.
Hence, I was wearing a border print skirt, with a casbah (i.e. old arabic city) landscape. You have seen this skirt earlier on day 313 with a different blouse and accessories but the orange bustier top and the light brown Garay belt with lions’ heads and a chain have not been presented yet.

With me on the pics, Satte is wearing an incredible original 1920′s silk evening gown, with fantastic beading (borrowed from VintagEija’s for the show) and Mimosa is wearing a 1980′s – does 50′s – vintage dress, with a “Taj Mahal” print (from her own vintage collection).
I bought the orange bustier late october from Brussels, while shopping with our friends Laurence and Sylvain. The belt is from ebay. My purse is from a vintage shop in Chicago and purchased in the early 2000′s, my wedges are from Meow’s vintage shop in Long Beach in 1999 and my skirt from a vintage shop ( Decades of Fashion) in San Francisco a couple of years ago. My hat is from a flea market in Finland, yellow gloves from an antique mall in California, the orange bakelite necklace is from an antique shop in Orlando, the bracelet and earrings from etsy.

Those bakelite pieces are awesome!
Thanks!
