365 Vintage Days: Tourists in Barcelona

Before heading to the High Rockabilly Weekender, our friends and us spent a couple of days sightseeing in Barcelona. Barcelona has a lot to offer so we had to prioritize to make the most of it in a limited time. We focused on the great work of Architect Antonió Gaudi and visited two of the famous houses that he has designed: the Casa Pedrera and the Casa Batlló. We were not successful visiting the Sagrada Familia church, due to endless lines.

Here are a few pictures taken on the roof terrace of the Casa Pedrera.

I was wearing very simple yellow and black stripe capris, with a nice button detail at the leg, with a black blouse, black ballerinas, purse and gold loop earrings.

I purchased these capris from VintagEija’s. They were originally long cigarette pants but I wanted to have them shortened. Afterwards, I have been thinking that these would have been very cool in their original lenght too… But it is too late and they’re fine as capris.

I purchased the purse from the Viva Las Vegas car show last April.

The next day, we visited the Casa Batlló. A wonderful place! I was wearing a pink skirt, with a pink, white, black blouse with a cocktail theme. I also had a black belt and similar accessories as the day before.

I bought the skirt from a vintage shop in New York (Star Struck Vintage) years ago and the blouse from VintagEija’s in Spring 2011.

365 Vintage Days

365 vintage days was a bet and a challenge. From March 2011 to March 2012, during 365 days, I published every day a new post with a different vintage outfit and had you witnessing the challenge. I have been buying and wearing 50’s clothing and accessories – most of it casual - for more than twenty years and I am still doing so. This blog now continues ...

The capris look great! I always have troubles with the waists of vintage capris being so tiny. It’s getting harder to find them nowadays. I absolutely love the skirt and novelty blouse outfit! You look good in these type skirts, this is the first time I’ve seen you wear this style, very nice!

      Thanks Susie!
I also sometimes find capris with simply a too small waist but in some cases there would be ways to alter the waist a little and get an inch or two.
