365 Vintage Days: Turquoise and white separate set

Lately I have not had much time to take pictures on outfits and the weather has not really helped me either…

Luckily, I have pictures of outfits taken earlier this year but not presented yet. Here is one, with pics dating from late May 2013, at the Oiler’s MCC vintage flea market. I was wearing a woolen skirt and top set, in white and turquoise. I love matching separate sets and this one was a really nice find.

The skirt looks like a straight pencil skirt on the front, with nice detailed pockets, but the back has a great flare and a A-line. Really nicely designed. The sweater is short sleeved, with turquoise details at the sleeves and collar. I also had a vinyl padded and scalloped belt, a vinyl purse and simple white ballerinas. The final touch came from a large turquoise bangle and plastic turquoise and white triffari’s earrings.

Most of the pics were taken in front of our friend’s 65 Dodge Monaco.

I found this great set from the ”2nd street antique mall” in Milwaukee in September 2012. The belt is from VintagEija’s, in July or August 2012. The purse is from an antique mall in Vancouver (Washington) in spring 2012 and the bangle from an antique mall in California a few years earlier. I have owned the earrings for so many years that I do not remember where I got them from. The ballerinas are modern ones.

I have been buying and wearing 50’s clothing and accessories – most of it casual - for more than twenty years and I am still doing so. This blog now continues ...

Thanks for your nice comment Shauna! You’re right, the skirt is quite special in the way it is cut. All the best for the beginning of 2014!
