Fintage Fashion Show: Green sheath dress

A couple of weeks ago I went to a 1950s themed evening party held at the Finnish Labour Museum Werstas. The theme was in fact “the long 1950s” so the dress code included late forties and early sixties. I went for this early sixties look and chose a little woollen number and accessorized with grey and off-white.

I made this dress a few years back, using a vintage pattern. I had not been wearing it in ages but after the event it has been in occasional casual wear along with a felt coat and a bag which belonged to either my late aunt or my grandmother. The cardigan is from lovely Ester.

A young lady from Tampere, Finland, with a passion for the old days. I have always been an aesthete, which eventually got me into vintage. I wear vintage daily and my pet period is the 1930’s. As certain vintage items are difficult to find I also often make my own clothes drawing inspiration from old magazines and photos. I have a soft spot for old shoes and aspire to surround myself with pretty vintage heels.
