Fintage Fashion Show: Japanese Afternoon

I love blossoming cherry trees so me and my husband decided to make a visit to Helsinki Cherry Park while the trees are in their fullest bloom. Cherry Park has its origins in the Japanese merchant living in Finland, who had the idea that the Japanese living in Helsinki, their family members and the Japanese companies could donate cherry trees for the Helsinki hanami fest.

The pink dress with the Japanese theme was a natural choice. I bought this cotton dress a year ago in a Viva Las Vegas Car Show. I fell in love with the fabric, but because of the heat I didn’t try it on until in a hotel room; it fitted perfectly. I’m not sure about its age, the sewing looks old but the zipper is plastic, but maybe it’s been changed? However, I love this dress.

The red purse I purchased in a motorcycle swap market 15 years ago. I considered for some time whether I buy it or not, because I thought it was expensive (well, not comparing prices of today!). I’m glad that I bought it, it’s good shade of red and I’ve used it a lot!

The red shoes are modern, but made in the old style.

I've been in 50's scene since mid 90's. I started by listening music of that era and soon I got interested in clothing and everything else that includes fifties culture, and forties too. But still music is number one for me! I mix vintage, repros and new clothes, yet I prefer vintage.
