Fintage Fashion Show: The one and only suit

As you´ve already propably read from other writers there was this amazing event that Fintage organized: Suvi Vintage. This summery event was organized in 1940’s style, there were a horse with a wagon, a 50’s carousel (for children, but in wich we rode!), vintage market and people dressed in war time clothing. An event full of lovely people, but what was not so lovely regarding to my wallet: loads of gorgeus things to buy! I found two dresses, a jacket, two hats and a leathery school bag and backpack mix. The weather was a bit chilly, but I bravely wore my summer suit. The only suit I own, though suits are one of the key pieces of the 40’s. Suit´s from Etsy, so are the hat (Thank you Elina for finding it!) and the shoes. They are all authentic dating back to the 30’s or 40’s. The shoes are dead stock.

Below´s the suit from back. Got to love that embroideried sailor style collar! As you can see there was also dancing, although it was forbidden in the WWII time here in Finland.

Here are some close-ups of the accessories (pictures from here: hat, shoes):

I use the name Ester, though it is not my real name. Instead it is very finnish and very forties, as I would hope to be. A few years ago I fell in love with the period between late 30′s to mid 40′s. I adore the frumpy and practical, but ever so stylish 40′s homefront women and campus girls.
